Sex Crimes
Traci Flynn appeared before Circuit Judge Jeffrey Burdette for sentencing after pleading guilty in October, 2017 to third-degree sodomy as well as use of an electronic device to procure a minor to engage in a sexual act. [0]
The charges stem from a report the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office received in December 2016 that a local teen 14 at the time had been involved in inappropriate sexual conduct with Flynn, then 38.
PCSO’s investigation confirmed the allegations in part through an examination of the minor’s phone.
Pulaski County Schools Assistant Superintendent Sonya Wilds noted at the time of the arrest that Flynn had not come into contact with the minor as a result of her position with the school system, and that Flynn had not gone to Florida in any official capacity such as chaperone.
When Flynn pleaded guilty in October, 2017, the prosecution agreed to dismiss the rape counts and one sodomy count.
Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney David Dalton recommended a three-year sentence on the remaining charges.
Due to the nature of the charges, the sentence is not subject to probation.
Flynn will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life. Upon release from prison, she will be subject to conditional discharge (oversight from probation and parole office) for five years. Flynn had been free on bond prior to sentencing but was booked into the Pulaski County Detention Center after Thursday’s hearing. [0]
