Thomas Suarez

Thomas Suarez is an American computer programmer and virtual reality developer based in Los Angeles, California. He is the founder and Chief technology officer of Teleportal. [17] [22]

Education

Suarez is currently on leave of absence from Georgia Institute of Technology to work on his company Teleportal full time. [23]

Career

He taught himself to code at the young age of nine and started publishing apps on Apple Inc.'s app store that got him recognition in the developer community. He started a mobile app company called CarrotCorp [7], which sells mobile applications on the iOS platform. Thomas has given a TED talk about the importance of computer programming and helps others learn to code as well. [12]

Suarez established his own company, CarrotCorp in 2009.

CarrotCorp sold mobile applications for the iOS platform, two were free and two others sold for $0.99 each.

His most successful app is one he called “an anti-Justin Bieber game” called “Bustin Jieber”. Tom called it similar to Whac-A-Mole. The game allows users to “whack Justin Bieber” when he moves to a different random location on the screen, he moves every fifth of a second. [23]

He then founded Teleportal in 2015.

Teleportal (formerly WiTag) creates real-world augmented reality experiences and platforms. [23]

Trivia

His TED Talk video on YouTube has over 11 million views.[20]
