Tom McTague

Tom McTague is a British journalist and author based in London, United Kingdom. He is POLITICO's chief U.K. political correspondent, based in Parliament. [1]

Career

He recently covered British legislative issues for The Independent, Mail Online, and The Mirror.

McTague often shows up as a visitor reporter on TV.

At the Independent on Sunday, McTague covered Cameron's badly feted renegotiation with the European Union, just as the ascent of Jeremy Corbyn as a power in British legislative issues. Simultaneously, he met both, one in No 10 Downing Street as he fought to save his prevalence and the other in a bistro in Islington as he visited about his pet feline El Gato and his own change from off-kilter backbencher to the head of the resistance.

Prior to the Independent on Sunday, McTague worked at Mail Online, where he was appointee political supervisor, and at the Daily Mirror where he joined as an alumni student in 2007 preceding moving gradually up to turn into a political reporter in 2011.

McTague is a co-creator of Betting the House: Inside Story of the '17 Election that was delivered in 2017 by Biteback.

McTague grew up in Co. Durham in the North East England and now lives in London with his wife and son.
