TJ Cox

TJ Cox is a businessman, engineer, and political candidate residing in Fresno, California. He is currently the Democratic candidate seeking election to represent California's 21st congressional district in United States Congress. In August 2018 he received the endorsement of former President Barack Obama. [4]

Early Life & Education

TJ Cox was born in Walnut Creek, California in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area to immigrant parents. Cox's mother Perla De Castro immigrated to the United States from the Philippines and his father Kenneth Cox who is half Chinese and half Filipino immigrated from China.

Cox holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Nevada and an Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University. He is a registered professional engineer and a licensed general and public works contractor. Cox was inspired to pursue a career in science by his father, Kenneth Cox, who, as a researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory, and was one of the USA's leading authorities on hydrogen energy.

Politics

TJ Cox is the Democrat candidate for California's 10th Congressional District. He is running against incumbent and veteran Steve Knight. [2]

TJ Cox believes in government stimulus as a means of job creation.

Amnesty for DACA recipients

TJ Cox has said that he would support a bill with "a path to citizenship and protections for DACA recipients".

He has not expressed support of the 2018 Border Security and Immigration Reform Act.
