Tita Moreno
Mariana "Tita" Moreno, is a television host, radio host and singer from Guatemala.
She's currently a radio host on the Guatemalan station Atmósfera 96.5 and the lead singer for the band Nina Indigo. She is the little sister of the Guatemalan singer-songwriter and guitarist, Gaby Moreno.
Education
Moreno studied at the Rafael Landívar University a private Jesuit university in Guatemala. While studying there, she obtained a degree in Communication sciences.
Career
Moreno started her career in television behind the scenes and then moved on to be a television producer.
As a radio host in Guatemala, she has worked on the stations Atmósfera 96.5 and the Kiss Fm 97.7 (Ruta 977).
Moreno is the lead singer for the Guatemalan band, Nina Indigo.
A band where all the members are recognized guatemalan musicians from different genres.
The band fuses pop and alternative rock.
On April 6, 2017, the Guatemalan news site, Prensa Libre, interviewed Moreno alongside Lucía Montepeque and Sofi Miranda for a story on up-and-coming Guatemalan artists. There she talked about her music style, the style of her band, Nina Indigo and the preparation of their first studio album.
On May 21, 2017, Moreno was the first edition of Sesiones Sandia **, where she sang rap and played the guitar to a cover of Quién Manda by the Spanish hip hop singer La Mala Rodriguez.
Personal Life
As the little sister of Gaby Moreno, Tita Moreno has stated that she looks up to her and thanks Gaby for her influence in music and all the things that she has taught her.
Moreno has stated that she does not like the glamour at all, preferring to ride her bike, listen to vinyl records and eat pizza.
Her preferred musical style is from the 80s.
The instruments that she plays are the guitar and the melodica. Moreno has stated that she does not consider herself an expert in any instrument, but that she can play basic guitar. She likes to play the melodica, because it looks like a toy, but at the same time it brings uniqueness to the sounds. She is also the lead singer for the band ‘Nina Indigo’.
As an animal lover, she owns two dogs: a chihuahua and a miniature doberman pinscher.
On October 19, 2016, Moreno posted a picture of herself on Twitter holding a paper with the words ‘#NiUnaMenos’, the “not one less” movement. Referring to the campaign against gender-based violence.
