Tim Leissner

Tim Leissner (born October 31, 1971) is an American banker and financial marketer. He became famous after he pleaded guilty to two-count criminal information filed in federal court in 2018 and also for being the husband of actress and model Kimora Lee Simmons.[1][2]

Early Life

He was born in 1971 in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. He spent his childhood with his parents and siblings growing up.[3][4]

He attended a local high school for his basic education.

He then enrolled at University of Siegen and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Arts in 1991. In 1993 he then joined the University of Somerset where he completed his Ph.D, He was a very smart and intelligent student while in school.[5]

Career

After graduation he went to work with Lehman Brothers where he represented the Asia-pacific region while working under them. Then in 1988 he left them and worked with Goldman Sachs.

Since then till 2016 he worked as an executive director in the mergers and acquisition division in the bank.

In 2002 he was promoted as a co-president of the company’s in Singapore Market. He then became the chairman of Southeast Asia division in the middle of 2014.

Relationship Status

He is currently married to Kimora Lee Simmons. She is a model and fashion designer. The two first met in 2012 and after talking for a while they began dating. They soon decided to tie the knot and then got married in 2015.

They then welcomed their first child Wolfe Lee.

Although Kimora has been previously married to Russell Simmons. Russell is an American film producer, entrepreneur and writer.

She also had two daughters with Russell they are Ming Lee and Aoki Lee.

Controversy

He was involved in an investment fraud as he was allegedly accused of stealing billion of dollars from the Malaysian State investment fund. He pleaded guilty to it in November 2018 and was charged by the DOJ with conspiring to launder assets and violate FCPA.

It was also stated by the DOJ that he bribed various Malaysian and Abu Dhabi, officials. He has been banned along with other men that were also involved with the fraud. He was asked not to pay anything aside the $43.7 million.

Net Worth

From his business venture he has made a very good amount of money.

He made $10 to $15 million as his annual income.

Although he was accused of theft it does not affect his net worth.

He has an estimated net worth of $50 million USD.
