Thomas Cabrera is a Florida man known for dragging Police officer John Cusack through the streets with his car after being caught with Heroin in a parking a lot. ^[1]

Cabrera lives with his fiancee in Fort Lauderdale. ^[undefined]

Cabrera is charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license and reckless driving, according to his arrest report.

On Tuesday morning, December 19th, 2017, Officer John Cusack went to go check a drug overdose report.

When he arrived he found Cabrera and his fiancee unconscious inside of the car.

Cabrera then woke up, turned the engine on and took off while dragging the police officer along.

During the ride, Cabrera tried to drag officer Cusack through objects in attempts to knock him off.

Once the vehicle had slowed down enough, Officer Cusack let go.

Cabrera continued and led police on a nearly 20-mile chase, reaching 105 mph, and at several points drove along the shoulder of the highway, according to Cabrera’s arrest report.

Cabrera eventually became trapped in rush-hour traffic, and police took him and his fiancée into custody.

Cabrera, who lives in the retirement community, is being held in a Broward County jail.
