The Game Chasers
The Game Chasers
The Game Chasers is made up of Jay Hatfield and Billy Hudson and they are game collectors.[1]
Billy
Billy has been gaming since the Atari 2600 and Intellivision, but "true gaming" for him started his first NES. He fell madly in love with gaming at that moment and his enthusiasm continues to this day. He has been a serious collector since 2004.[2]
Jay the Gameaholic
Jay is a gameaholic.
He spends a lot of time collecting anything retro, and more time playing. He has had many interventions over the years, but to no avail. Is he sick? Twisted? Demented? No. He is a gameaholic.
Mission
Together they make up the dynamic game-collecting team known as the Game Chasers.
Their mission is to scour the land far and near to uncover gaming treasures of old.
whether it be gaming stores, flea markets, thrift stores, or even peoples attics, they search out Retro games and have a blast while doing it. [4]
The show
"It’s just natural progression I think, you know.
Doing what we do and meeting the people that we’ve met, we’ve actually become friends with them.
Like 8-Bit Eric, Wood from BeatEmUps, AlphaOmegaSin, and Norm the Gaming Historian; these guys come out to Texas a couple times a year and they’ll be there for weeks at a time. So, if we go out filming and they’re with us, it’s just going to be a good time. We can only put up what happens, basically. If games aren’t found, trust me, we’d like to find the, like you said, diamonds in the rough every episode, but it’s just not realistic and it doesn’t happen. We get a lot of people telling us, especially guys, are like, “My wife hates video games but likes watching you guys because you’re funny”, and this and that. If games are (still) found, I know the last two episodes, the last episode especially that came out a few days ago."
