The Engima Collection

The Engima Collection

The Enigma Collection is a fashion line launched by Louis Sarkozy and Boonper.[1]

Overview

The line, which launched in 2019, is an attempt to bridge the gap between fashion and academia.

The line features shoes that are inspired by Marie Curie, Sigmund Freud, Thomas Jefferson and William Shakespeare.

Sarkozy has enlisted the help from modern influencers in academia such as Steven Pinker, Robert A. M. Stern, Joshua Cohen and Zachary R. Wood.

Each particular shoe has an educational message.

The Marie Curie says:

"The Curie Shoe is imprinted with an entry of her journal on the day she isolated Radium.

Both the signature and the symbol of radioactivity adorn the side and rear.

Marie died of illnesses related to her work, and in 1995 became the first woman to be buried in the Pantheon, France´s highest honor.

Her remains will stay radioactive for thousands of years.

Her influence and discoveries will remain with us for far longer.

"

The Sigmund Freud says:

"The conscious, and subconscious: two sides of the same coin, an individual.

The study of dreams, and the dark, almost nightly stare he was renowned for.

These are what we felt important to transcribe on our Sigmund shoe, designed in honor of the commanding Austrian.

The moccasin is in two fabrics, the conscious, refined and frontal suede, and subconscious, coarse and honest leather.

The dream catcher deposited on the dark blue background is reminiscent of fleeting images, hollow noises and the evanescent mysteries of our un-awakened lives.

His signature, authoritative yet surprisingly gentle and fluid, hints at the workings of his vivacious intellect."

The Thomas Jefferson says:

"Thomas Jefferson is a controversial figure to this day.

We may ask why honor a man who did after all, owned hundreds of slaves?

How could he, so eloquently humanly, pronounce the fundamental and universal equality of all men, while sitting inside his plantation house, surrounded by battered and shackled souls, themselves the most needing of his newly introduced truths?

Hitch continues: “He contained contradictions and paradoxes.

This is true of everybody, and of everything.

It would be infinitely more surpring to strike upon a historic figure, or indeed a nation, that was not subject to this law.

Jefferson did not embody contradiction.

Jefferson was a contradiction.”

The William Shakespeare says:

"William Shakespeare (1564-1616) is generally regarded as the most important writer in the English language, and perhaps in any language.

His thirty-seven plays and poems plumb the depths of the human mind with a verbal dexterity and intelligence that is unmatched, and represent the apex of humanism in English literature.

His work mocks the mighty and empathises with those who seek greater meaning in this world.

Shakespeare combines comedy, tragedy, romance and politics in a matchless tapestry of the human experience.
