Teresa Tomeo

Teresa Tomero is a Catholic Radio Host, Author, Motivational Speaker, and Journalist based in the Greater Detroit Metropolitan Area.

Education and Secular Career

Teresa attended Central Michigan University and graduated with a degree in Journalism in 1981. For nearly 20 years, she worked as a radio and TV news reporter and anchor woman in the Detroit area. Teresa gained recognition for her work in radio by the Associated Press, The Detroit Press Club, and the American Women in Radio and TV. In 1988, she made the jump to television as a reporter and anchor for WKBD-TV 50, covering the streets of Detroit live five nights a week before moving to the ABC affiliate WXYZTV Channel 7. Her assignments at Channel 7 took her across the country covering some of the most significant stories of the ‘90s, including the Oklahoma City bombing and the 1995 visit to the United States by Pope John Paul II.

Catholic Radio and Success

Through the course of her career, Teresa became disillusioned and disappointed by the trends in the media toward sensationalism, violence, and liberal bias.

In the year 2000, Teresa left the secular media to start her own speaking and communications company, Teresa Tomeo Communications, LLC.

Her daily morning radio program, Catholic Connection, is produced by Ave Maria Radio in Ann Arbor, Michigan and is syndicated to over 200 Catholic stations nationwide through the EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network and is also carried on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio.

She has led several pilgrimages and retreats each year to various holy places around the world.

In 2008, she was chosen as one of 270 delegates from around the world to attend the Vatican Women's Congress held in Rome marking the 20th Anniversary of John Paul the Second's Letter entitled On the Dignity and Vocation of Women.
