Daughter of Nilda Moya, Merino debuted as a vedette in the now defunct Picaresque Theater in October 1983.
Following her mother's advice to perfect her profession, she studied singing with Ricardo Álvarez and theater with Fernando González. As an actress, Merino was part of the cast of the film Garrincha. In television, she participated in the series Infieles and Lo que callamos las mujeres, both on Chilevisión.[2][3]
