Controversy

On June 29, 2016 Bob Katter a MP representing Katter's Australian Party in Australia made comments about Tamara Candy that many criticized for being sexist.

Bob Katter messaged Tamara on Facebook and said “I think George Christensen would like you “volunteering” back on the Dawson campaign.” By putting the word volunteering in quotations Katter implied that Candy was not actually volunteering and that her position was not to be taken seriously.

Candy replied on Facebook saying “Bob Katter excuse me, that is extremely sexist”. She also later commented on Katter's remarks by saying “It’s very grubby and sends a strong message about how Katter views women in the workforce.”
