T-posing is a body stance that has become a pop-culture phenomenon throughout the late 2010s. It has been derived from computer games in which characters are set into position by default (in order to move and animate their bodies).^[3] Oftentimes a video game glitch can render a character into a t-pose, which is then seen by the player (even when the developers did not intend for this to happen).

Know Your Meme reports that the earliest instance of t-posing ironically used in Internet memes dates from a 2017 Reddit post to /r/DeepFriedMemes featuring Family Guy character Brian Griffin.^[2]

A video on YouTube with around twenty thousand views features around thirty teenage boys t-posing in a school bathroom and harmonizing. Some stand on urinals while others stand on the stall walls as a group of onlookers laugh and record on their phones.^[4]
