Sonia Dara is a Sports Illustrated Supermodel and has modelled for the prestigious brands such as Vogue, Cosmo Girl, Neiman Marcus Seventeen. She represented as an IMG Model in Milan, London, and New York; Factor Models in Atlanta Chicago, Nathalie models in Paris, and Munich Models. She is a Harvard Graduate and an Audience Market Manager at Microsoft in Seattle, Washington.
Early life
Sonia began modelling at the age of fifteen with Elite Atlanta and Elite New York.
Growing up in Atlanta, she had an early start in the modelling world.
Her parents were supportive of her modelling career, provided she got good grades in studies.
She continued with her high school studies, signing with the local elite model management agency.
Education
She completed her high school from Northview High School and later graduated in 2013 with Bachelor of Arts in the field of Economics, Human Evolutionary Biology, and Spanish from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
She worked after school hours or weekends and only took off two semesters from her college for big modelling projects.
Career
She became popular for her appearance in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2010 as the first South Asian Model.
She has been featured in Yves St. Laurent in Atlanta, Paris Shoot for Vogue India, and been a face for well known brands, such as Valentino, Valentino, Versace, Neiman Marcus, Women’s Wear Daily, Balenciaga, Elle india and Seventeen. She has done interviews with the Wall Street Journal and Fox News. She also served as a guest judge on the America’s Next Top Model. Later she did summer internship at Deutsche Bank in New York. She also has a modelling contract with Laura Mercier Cosmetics.
