Solar Opposites is an animated sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan, who are also the duo behind hit series Rick and Morty. The show was originally created for Fox Broadcasting Company, and was later bought by Hulu. Roiland, McMahan, and Josh Bycel are the executive producers.

Solar Opposites centers around "a family of aliens from a better world who must take refuge in middle America." Their home planet "Shlorp" used to be a utopia, until an asteroid hit and they were forced to flee. Aliens were previously assigned evacuation 'families' and each given a pupa that will eventually evolve and destroy whatever planet the host family is taking refuge on, however they do not know when. Korvo despises America, while Terry is more open to it. In addition to their home planet being exterminated and being forced to move to new, overpopulated planet, the humans are not welcoming and have a tendency to discriminate against them, even the principal at Yumyulack and Jesse's school.

The series debuted on May 8, 2020.^[1] The first teaser for the series was released on March 25, 2020.^[4] The official trailer was released on April 15, 2020.^[3]

According to executive producer and writer Josh Bycel, “The scripts for the second season are pretty much almost done and we were able to send home the animators with computers. [...] It’s worked well so far, but I don’t know what’s gonna happen once we have to send our material to Vancouver to get coloured and all that stuff, because we’re not quite there yet.” Fans predict that season two will drop in early 2021.^[12]

Within Solar Opposites, another mini-story takes place inside the wall in Yumyulack and Jesse's bedroom. The wall is covered in terrariums that connect to create a miniature world. Yumyulack also possesses a shrink ray, which he uses on anyone who pisses him off, and then places them inside the wall. One man was shrunk because he farted while in the same elevator as Yumyulack (S1 Ep07)

Yumyulack has shrunk so many people that they've created a civilization with a corrupt leader, The Duke, and a religion devoted to Jesse who often brings them candy, basically their only food source.

The story follows Tim, a man who becomes a revolutionary, and Cherie, a woman he saved upon her arrival.

They attempt to overthrow The Duke and create a better world for the people within The Wall.

At the end of each intro, Korvo gives different anecdotes regarding his hatred of Earth and particularly the United States. Below is a list of all of them:
