Shilpa Kannan is a reporter for BBC News.

Kannan started her career as an intern for BBC in 2001 and later moved to the Delhi-based South Asia bureau in 2003.

Kannan has been at the forefront of major stories including the 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake and 2008 Mumbai attacks.
