Shayla Rivera has used her engineering and NASA experience to create the hit one-woman show "Rocket Science and Salsa," directed by Debbie Allen, in which Rivera toured the country. She has appeared on television in "Girls Behaving Badly," "Ultimate Revenge" and "Funny is Funny." She was a guest on "The Roseanne Show" and "The Martin Short Show." She has also headlined on entertainment programs for Univision, Galavision, and on "The Latino Comedy Jam" for Telemundo. Shayla enjoys performing for the military and their families, joining two tours to Iraq and Kuwait in 2009 with additional trips planned for 2011. A frequent guest of universities, leadership, and womens conferences, corporate and nonprofit events, speaker Rivera is well known for her motivational keynotes, and is a long time advocate for education, careers in science, and diversity. She is the 2010 recipient of the Latino Speakers Bureau Award for Excellence in Public Speaking. [1]
