Shayanna Jenkins was the fiancée of Aaron Hernandez, an NFL player who was doing life in prison until he took his own life in 2017. ^[1]

Shayanna was born and raised in the East Coast of the United States. She, her younger sister Shaneah, and their mother lived in Bristol, Massachusetts. This was the town where she attended elementary school and would go on to befriend Aaron Hernandez and know him for the rest of his life. He lived around the corner from her.

At an early age she established herself as a track star.

She and Aaron would share love notes and flirts with each other starting in their middle school days.

Since then they had an off and on romance throughout their lives.

Aaron attracted many girls due to his athletic achievements as a potent and talented high school basketball player and American football.

She attended a community college in the Connecticut.

After Hernandez was recruited by University of Florida and later drafted by the New England Patriots, he sought out Shayanna and the two moved into a townhouse together. They later moved into a mansion.

In 2012, they had a child together, Avielle.

While they also lived together in Hermosa Beach, California, Shayanna and Aaron experienced a tumultuous relation as she had discovered dozens of photos of women in his cell phone. 911 reports were made after calls received from the house about the couple fighting. Aaron had smashed a window with his hand. Yet, they still went on to get matching tattoos together.

She would go on to describe at length during her trial her choice of staying with Aaron, despite his constant cheating and behavior towards her.

Once Avielle was born, Aaron promised to clean up his act, and even stated them publicly.

Aaron would go on to betray his own words and break the bond with his partner, Shayanna due to the violent actions he would commit the following months.

Around the time that Aaron and Shayanna started dating, her sister Shaneah introduced Aaron to her boyfriend at the time, Odin lloyd, a semi-professional Football player. They first met in 2012 when Hernandez gave Shaneah a skybox for her birthday.

Since Lloyd lived in Massachusetts, Shaneah would stay with her sister and Aaron whenever she visited him.

The women would spend time together: going to clubs with their boyfriends; shop; get their nails; etc. The men would retire into Aaron's basement to smoke marijuana while the women would be upstairs doing their thing.

In one occasion, they were at a nightclub and Aaron had seen Lloyd associating with the wrong crowd.

It was soon revealed that Lloyd had been murdered and authorities wanted Aaron for questioning.

Shayanna drove her fiancee to the station while they had their daughter in the backseat.

Aaron gave her specific instructions to get in touch with affiliates and that she needed to give them some money.

These acquaintances Aaron asked of her to be in touch were Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz - the two would also be a part of the trials to come.

Carlos would be convicted and Wallace acquitted.

According to Shayanna's own testimonies, she had asked Aaron if he had done the deed of killing Lloyd and he denied it.

His answer was enough for her to trust him.

On the same afternoon that Lloyd was killed, Aaron called Shayanna and asked her to get rid of a box that was in the basement.

He never disclosed what was inside to her.

When she disposed of it she was caught on camera and later questioned about this particular episode concerning the mystery box.

Many believe that the gun Aaron used to kill Lloyd was inside.

Since 2013, Aaron had been on trial for the murder of Lloyd, which alienated both sisters.

Shaneah was on the side of Lloyd and Shayanna supported her future husband.

She was granted immunity in order to properly testify in court.

She has stated that she

did find a gun inside one of his drawers but did question him about it.

She was charged for perjury after investigators accused her of lying.

Yet, she later gave a more truthful testimony which ended the prosecution for perjury.

She has been a supportive girlfriend and partner of Aaron and made headlines when she decided to take her husband's last name as her own even though the two had never married.

On Friday, April 21st, 2017, a few days after Aaron's suicide, Sheyanna file a lawsuit against the Massachusetts Department of Correction as there is still an investigation to be had after he was declared dead due to his suicide. She doesn't believe that Aaron committed suicide and that there is evidence that is being withheld. She has asked the judge to ensure that the evidence not get destroyed.

The body of Aaron has been released to his family.

His brain has been donated to Boston University Chronic traumatic encephalopathy unit.

At the moment, it's been reported that she currently lives in a town house near Louisquisset Golf Club in North Providence, Rhode Island with her 4 year old daughter.
