On Monday May 7, 2018, Baleigh Bagshaw was killed while talking on the phone inside her house with her mother. Authorities named French as the suspect in her death.

Baleigh at arrived home, 1624 W. 500 North, from West High School (Utah) just after 3:00 p.m. local time and called her mother to check in. [1]

She was speaking with her mom when a man began assaulting her. [1] He was located and arrested Wednesday May 9, 2018, in southeast Colorado.

Authorities stated French had been in a prior sexual relationship with Bagshaw.
