She majored in Kinesiology with the hopes and dreams of becoming a Physical therapist once all the school work is finally done. Early Life
Shannon May Woolsey was born in a small town in England called Great Yarmouth, and moved to Katy[2], Texas when she was only 5 years old. She has always wanted to be a cheerleader ever since she was 4 years old, and her mom put her in gymnastics classes as soon as they moved to Texas. The gym where she was enrolled also had a cheer program so Shannon only stuck with being a gymnast for about 2 - 3 years. Luckily for her, a cheer lady came to her class one day, swept her off the beam and held her by her feet, and told her to be a cheer leader.
Shannon Woolsey's Cheerleading Evolution
She Started off at Cheer Nation Gym
She started cheering at CheerNation, a gym connected to her gymnastics, on a level 3 team. She broke her elbow during the process but that wasn't discouraged from pursuing her dream to be a cheer leader. While she was on the Junior level 5 team, the program merged with Prodigy Allstars where she ended up being on their junior level 5 team. In 2012, she made it to the senior world team of the gym, Prodigy Midnight and cemented her love of cheerleading.
She joined Cheers Athletics Cheetah in Dallas.
After spending two years in Prodigy senior team she attended tryouts at Dallas which was a 4 hours drive from Katy, Texas. She made the team she always dreamed of being on, Cheer Athletics Cheetahs and this require her to drive for 4 and a half hours to practice and back for 2 years. She won 2 majors titles with them.
She joined Woodlands Elite Cheer Company
Her Senior year in high school was challenging to her because she did not have enough time to cheer.
She can't be driving for four and half hours and attending school at the same time.
She missed cheering but later got a call from Woodlands Elite Black Ops coaches to be part of their team and she agreed, Woodlands was only 45 minutes away from where she lives.
She won her first NCA title with Black Ops which was a great way to end her allstar career.
Shannon Joined The Panthers after leaving her Cheer Program at Oklahoma State University
She joined Oklahoma State University because of their known amazing cheer program thinking she was not going to do competitive cheer anymore, but she later joined the Panthers after being told they were looking for someone to join their team. At the Panthers, she placed 2nd at the Cheerleading World championship for the first time.
Shannon at Navaro College
She ended up attending Navarro College, which has one of the best cheer programs in the World and she was fortunate to be part of Cheer Athletics again on Wildcats 2018. She got another NCA win, as well as a 2nd place again at the World Championships with wildcats, and a Collegiate NCA win with Navarro which was outstanding. She stays at Navaro for the second year hoping to win another collegiate win.[7]
