Shannon Odell is a comedian, writer, actress and scientist based in Brooklyn. She is the host of Your Brain on Blank on Inverse.
Early Life
Odell is hails from Byram Township, NJ. [1] She attended Vassar College where she earned a B.A. in biology in 2012. During college, Odell was a Research Assistant for the Lizard Island Research Station and Pace University as well as a Laboratory Intern for Animal Physiology at Vassar College.
Career

Odell began taking classes and performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade since 2012.
She has performed with her indie improv teams Thistle and Sticker Club, and at the Annoyance Theater.
She is the cohost and producer of Drunk Science alongside Joanna Rothkopf and Jordan Mendoza where every month, they present a scientific dissertation to a panel of real scientists while intoxicated. In addition, Odell is the host of Your Brain on Blank where she explains science behind how everything from alcohol to puppies to caffeine affects the brain.
From 2012-2014, Odell was a Research Technician at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where she was the Optical Microscopy Manager for the Cellular and Molecular Neuroimaging Core. She is currently a Neuroscience PhD candidate at Weill Cornell Medicine and is studying the epigenetic underpinnings of hippocampal development.
