Sgt. Robert Forrest Jr. (September 30, 1959) is a retired American police officer who was in charge of the security detail for Nashville Mayor, Megan Barry. [1] He and the mayor would later have a controversial love affair.

Robert Forrest Jr. is a native of Tennessee. He lives in Nashville with his family.
Career

Officer Forrest Jr. was hired by Nashville Metro Police on November 16, 1986.
He held different positions up until he started working for the government as a security detail senior officer.
He retired from the Department on January 31, 2018.

On Wednesday, January 31, 2018, Mayor Megan Barry admitted to having an extramarital affair with Officer Forrest Jr. that began in the Spring of 2016. [1] The Mayor offered her public apologies to the families affected by the affair. [1]
On January 16, 2018, Forrest submitted his retirement papers.
He officially retired on January 31, with commendation letters by at least 20 people, including one from Mayor Megan Barry.
Forrest had no major investigations or transgressions during his time on the force, and there were no open investigations looking into Forrest at the time of his departure.
