Scott Presler
Scott Ryan Presler is an activist. He has helped lead several voluntary efforts, including a trash cleanup across multiple cities in the United States. This includes the Baltimore Cleanup (19 tons of trash was collected on September 20, 2019), and the Los Angeles Cleanup (over 50 tons of trash collected on September 21, 2019).
Early Life & Education
Scott Presler grew up in Virginia. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from George Mason University.[10]
Career
After graduating from George Mason, Presler could not find a job in his field.
As a result, he became a professional dog walker.[10] He also worked at an elementary school in his community.
Political Activism
In 2014, he began applying to Republican-affiliated jobs across the United States.
Within 3 days, he received a call from someone in Texas about getting involved in helping elect Greg Abbott as the state's governor in 2015.[10]
Subsequently, he moved back to his home state of Virginia where worked for the United States' Republican Party. While there, he helped rally for people to vote for Donald Trump in 2016.
He is now spending time doing Republican activism training where he helps people teach others how to register to vote and how to craft and spread messages for people across communities in America.[10]
Trash Cleanups
In August 2019, after Donald Trump commented on the conditions of Baltimore, Scott Presler thought about pragmatic solutions for how to clean up the city. In 6 days, he organized over 170 volunteers from across the country where they picked up 12 tons of trash in 12 hours in West Baltimore.[11]
