Scott Mclean is a CNN International Correspondent known for his investigative Journalism and for producing a long-form investigation of the provincial jail system in Saskatchewan. [1]
Early Life
Born and raised in the town of St. Thomas, Ontario, ever since Scott was a little kid he had an interest for the news as he would often sit and read about the Toronto Bluejays in the sports section of the London Free Press. From there, he went on to read other news publications and magazines - eventually leading to internet media publications also.
Education
After high school, Scott attended Carleton University and later on York University in the city of Toronto where he graduated with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in Film production. Scott was the News Editor of the “Excalibur.” He also did work placements at /A News in London, ON and then at CHBC in Kelowna before landing in Regina.
Career

After graduating, he immediately began working as a reporter and correspondent for Global News in Regina, SK for several years. He covered everything from provincial politics to breaking news to entertainment, and whatever else had people in SK talking.
Scott also had duties he was a part of at the station in Regina.
There were months when he was the weekend technical producer.
In 2011, Scott shared an RTDNA honorable mention for a half-hour special he produced called “Becoming Snowbird 6.”[1]
After his time in Regina, he went on to work for CTV News as a reporter and anchor.
Skills
While at Global News, he would strengthen his skills in shooting, editing, routing live feeds, and other technical duties he would fulfill in the absence of others.
CNN
On January 14, 2016, CNN Newsource announced that Scott Mclean would join the team as a National Correspondent based in Washington DC. Later, he became the CNN correspondent for the Denver, Colorado office.
Currently, Mclean is the CNN International Correspondent.[3]

As of March 2020, Mclean has about 6,000 followers on his scottmclean Twitter account, where he shares his reports and comments on current political events. He also has about 4,600 followers on his scottmcleancnn Instagram account, where he posts his work and travel photos, as well as photos with friends and family.[3][10]
