Sam Levin is an American journalist based in Oakland, California. He is a reporter for The Guardian's west coast bureau. Levin graduated from Columbia University in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in urban studies.
Career
He previously worked as a senior staff writer for the East Bay Express, an alternative weekly newspaper in Oakland, California. There, he wrote long-form investigative features and covered local culture and music.
Levin also worked as a staff writer at the St. Louis Riverfront Times, running the paper’s news blog, Daily RFT. Before that, he was a writer for Westword, Village Voice, and the New York Daily News. **
