Rocky Badd

Rocky Badd

Rocky Badd (born 16/05/1994) is a Detroit rapper who became popular for hits such as "Gone," "Make it Back" and "What You Want." She started releasing music on SoundCloud in 2016. [1] She’s a fierce soul with a bright smile and youthful exuberance; yet she throws down on the microphone with reckless abandon.

Early Life

Rocky was born on May 16th, 1994 in Detroit, Michigan. Her parents were both extremely familiar with words; her father was an important rapper in the city’s local scene and her mother frequently wrote poetry about her lifestyle and surroundings. Because of this, Rocky knew that she wanted to work in music from a very young age. She wrote her first rap song in the sixth grade when she realized that the art form was her calling. [2]

Career

In 2016, she uploaded her first song to Soundcloud. Prior to that, much of her music existed on YouTube.[4] Since then, she’s been on a roll, releasing music along with accompanying videos that have racked up tens of thousands of views.

She released more than four tracks in 2017 and never stops improving on herself.

She has a total of 71 tracks available on Soundcloud[5]. She dropped a total of six albums within 2017 and 2019.[12]

Rocky’s rap style is solid and straightforward, emulating a more traditional sound that’s uncommon in today’s rap atmosphere.

It works, perfectly.

Her ability to keep her delivery on point is what separates her from the scores of other artists who would kill to be in her place.

It makes listening to her easy as well.

She’s named Erykah Badu and Lauren Hill as two of her influences.

Rocky Badd gets into physical altercation with Cuban Doll

Cuban Doll, who was a social media star-turned-rapper from Dallas, and the Detroit rapper had some serious beef in the past which led to a physical altercation in January 2018. The altercation led to an incident which got Cuban Doll to be dropped from Capitol Music Group.

Rocky Badd released a 20-minutes video in which she claims she won.

Then Cuban Doll and Rocky B starting dropping diss tracks about each other.

The issue got out of hand in May when Cuban Doll was badly beaten by her boyfriend rapper, Tadoe, and apparently Rocky B mocked Cuban over it.

Cuban then took retaliation to the next level.

Cuban Doll set up a fake event and booked Rocky B. The Instagram post said they “walked her into an alley and abducted her, pistol whipped her and beat her. They also robbed her & took her chain. All over some rap beef. They had men do this to her in Cali.” Rocky B’s manager, Lando Bando, was also with her and was attacked as well. Rocky B was put in a dog cage by some Cuban Doll associates who took pictures which were published on The Shade Room Teens account on Instagram.

After that Capital Music Group agreed and dropped Cuban Doll from their label, although she doesn’t seem all that upset, saying that the deal she signed was a bad one and she was a “free agent”.
