Rob J auditioned for season 13 in November of 2017 for “America’s Got Talent.”
His resume includes awards from IHEARTRADIO and The Kane Show, plus more.
Rob J currently resides in Louisville, KY, with his beautiful wife Cassidy Jones and his 3-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.
They are expecting a new baby girl in December of 2017.
Born October 25, 1990, Rob J is the oldest of 6 adopted children to Bobby and Paula Jones.
Bobby was a non-denominational pastor, and Rob spent time doing ministry work with his father, even completing ministry school, before deciding it wasn’t for him.
Rob J is known as the man who cheats death.
This began in the womb, when his biological mother tried to abort him with a coat hanger.
Jones joined the Army in 2007.
He was injured during training exercise, and medically discharged.
He has also been
shot, stabbed
, and blown up in a house fire in 2011.
He suffered Carbon Dioxide poisoning and third and fourth degree burns on his face
.
He flat-lined twice on the way to hospital.
In 2014 Rob J had his right leg crushed in a work related injury, when a 70 pound package fell on his leg.
This lead to a rare chronic nerve disease called “Type Two CRPS.”
After months of complications and misdiagnosis, his leg developed gangrene
and had to be amputated one inch below the knee.
During this surgery, doctors lost the clamp on his artery, and Rob J flat-lined again, thrice.
Robert Jones continued to have medical problems.
In 2015, a blood clot burst in right lung, resulting in emergency surgery, blood transfusions, a chest tube, and a medically induced coma for a month.
Again he flat-lined twice.
In the past 10 years Robert Has had 11 surgeries.
In July of 2017, Jones was in a head on collision.
It was so violent it ripped his left foot off at the ankle, but with an emergency surgery, doctors were able to reattach it.
In September of 2017, Jones was able to walk again unassisted, but not without considerable pain.
Despite his misfortunes, Rob J, refuses to lay down.
He uses his life experiences in his comedy and inspirational speaking, to help others move forward positively.
His commitment in helping others is evident in his job history.
On top of being a minister, he has served in the army, worked on cattle and tobacco farms, served on the Fire and Rescue
, was a reserved Sheriff Deputy, and worked as a Corrections officer.
