Rita currently serves as Futurist at NASA Langley’s think tank, the National Institute of Aerospace.

She served as Innovator-in-Residence at IBM Analytics Virtual Center for three years.

She is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists and a former Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, where she explored the future of global collaboration through experimental work in immersive digital environments paired with field work across four continents.

She’s currently a Salzburg Global Fellow with a focus on the future of intercultural collaboration through art and science.
