Raymond Liddy
Raymond Liddy is a 53-year-old state prosecutor who is accused of possessing child pornography. [1]He is the son of G. Gordon Liddy who was deeply entangled in the Watergate scandal. [4]
Education
Raymond earned a degree in History and English from Fordham University in 1986 and after would enlist in the United States Marine Corps . He would go on to attend law school at Fordham but was mobilized during his first year for Operation Desert Storm. He would graduate Fordham University School of Law in 1993 and go into a private practice. [0]
Career
Raymond was mobilized for combat deployment twice, once for Operation Desert Storm and another following the September 11th attacks, In 2008 He became the Deputy Attorney General for the State of California's Department of Justice, and represents California in cases dealing with their Medicaid program.
Child Pornography
In January 2017, an internet service prover sent a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a user uploaded an image appearing to be child pornography. The organization received another tip in February 2017 where 10 images of child pornography were uploaded in a messaging program. The information was forwarded to the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children task force and tracked down the activity to Raymond's home. [1]
Raymond was arrested in his home on July 25th by FBI agents and told investigators that he used the screen name and other fake online personas to share sexual fantasies online.
Liddy was released on $100,000 bond.
His preliminary hearing is set for August 8th in Federal court.
