Vasquez was identified as the operator behind an autonomous vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian Elaine Herzberg in Tempe, Arizona. [1] Herzberg was walking a bike across a street outside a crosswalk at about 10:00 p.m. when she was fatally hit.
