PTR Industries is an American firearms manufacturer of Heckler & Koch (H&K) G3 clones such as the PTR91 (G3), PTR32 (HK32), and the MSG91 (MSG-90) battle rifles, mostly in 7.62x51mm NATO (.308 Winchester).
History
PTR (Precision Target Rifles) has its origins with a batch of H&K tooling bought from the Portuguese company Fábrica Militar in 2002 by Jose Luis Diaz and his JLD Enterprises.
[6]The company was formally organized as PTR Industries Inc. in 2006 in Bristol, Connecticut by Diaz and his landlord P Everett Weed.
Diaz left the company in 2010.
PTR moved in 2013 to to Aynor, South Carolina in 2013, in response to increased gun regulations stemming from the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in late 2012.
Josh Fiorini is the current CEO of the company.
