Philosophy of Consciousness
Consciousness and Fundamental Reality - by Prof. Philip Goff
Goff states that consciousness is experience and different beings have different levels of it.
For example, human consciousness is more advanced than dog consciousness while dog consciousness is more advanced than crab consciousness and so on.
Goff believes that a theory of consciousness cannot be derived for purely quantitative means.
He contends that modern science, which has Mathematics, is not suitable to measure something that is qualitative such as consciousness. He also asserts the cosmopsychist view; that the Universe does have a consciousness and that the universe acts to maximize value so long as in the constraints of the laws of physics.
