Philip Chism

Philip Chism was formerly a student at Danvers High School located in Danvers, Massachusetts.

In October 2013, he gained notoriety for raping and killing his 24 year old math teacher Colleen Ritzer.

Mr. Chism followed his math teacher to the bathroom and used a boxcutter to murder her then raped her. He then loaded her body in a recycling bin from the school to bury her body in the woods.

After burying his dead teacher's body in the woods, he uses her credit card to watch a movie at the local theatre.

Much of the evidence against him was caught on camera.

On Friday February 26, 2016 he was sentenced to 40 years in prison with the possibility of parole in 25 years.

Prior to his conviction, he pleaded not guilty because of suffering from severe mental illness.
