Flex Seal Products
Flex Seal is the flagship product from Swift Response LLC, a company which primarily deals with adhesive bonding agents. Other popular products include Flex Shot, Flex Glue and Flex Tape. Celebrities like Daniel Tosh, David Letterman, Jerry Seinfeld and Josh Homme have endorsed Flex Seal products. [12]
Since aspiring to memedom the company sells all sorts of unorthodox products like Phil Swift masks, Halloween costumes and cardboard cutouts as well as a Razor-style Flex Seal scooter.[13]
NASCAR
Swift Response has been sponsoring NASCAR Xfinity Series team JD Motorsports since 2013, they've sponsored drivers like Ross Chastain, Landon Cassill and Jeffrey Earnhardt. In 2017, Garrett Smithley got into an accident at Daytona and was able to finish the race in eighth place thanks to Flex Tape. [10]
Can Flex Tape Stop A Bullet?
Matt Carriker of Demolition Ranch designed an experiment to see if Flex Tape could stop a bullet. It was able to thwart a bullet from a .22 pistol after 80 layers were applied. [11]
JonTron
In 2017, Youtuber JonTron made a video titled "Waterproofing My Life With FLEX TAPE", which as of December 2019 has nearly 50 million views. The video goes through some of Phil's greatest marketing hits while JonTron makes humorous commentary. [6]
Slapping Flex Tape On A Leak
The most memed Phil Swift moment is from an infomercial released in January of 2017 where Phil slaps a thick layer of Flex Tape onto a water tank that's literally gushing from a bad leak. The adhesive instantly bonds, patching leaks that would normally require complex fixes. He also demonstrates that Flex Tape works underwater. [5]
Lifting 45 Pounds With Flex Tape
To prove another incredible point, Phil released a video where he can be seen curling a 45 pound weight dangling from a piece of Flex Tape.
When he aired this segment, Youtuber JonTron commented "Flex Tape ain't super strong Phil, you're super strong!".
Inside Edition tested this concept and were able to perform three reps with the tape before it peeled off. [7]
"I Sawed This Boat In Half!"
To prove just how powerful Flex Tape is, Phil Swift sawed a small boat in half with a handheld buzzsaw and sutured it back together with a 12 inch wide strip of Flex Tape on the interior and exterior.
He then takes the boat on the water for a cruise with no issues.
Inside Edition's Chief Investigative Correspondent Lisa Guerrero cut a boat it in half to put Flex Tape's claims to the test. After spending some time on the water, the vessel was deemed "seaworthy" although it did suffer minor leakage. [7]
Two Youtubers tried to replicate the experiment and their boat sunk within an hour.
Swift Response released a statement about these experiments that said: [9]
"when the product doesn't perform as expected, it's typically because the product was not applied correctly."
Flex Seal
Phil demonstrates the liquid rubber Flex Seal product by using it to instantly seal off a colander. He goes on to present several use cases like filling cracks and dipping tool handles for a no-slip grip. He even performs another boating test, adding several coats of Flex Seal liquid to a screen door and replacing the floor of a boat with it. [6]
Bucket Stabbing
In another clip, Phil Swift can be seen stabbing a bucket over and over again with a knife.
After puncturing the bucket a few times, he looked at the camera and said what became something of a motto: "That's a lotta damage!" He then pulled out a chainsaw and rips two large holes into the bucket, spraying a liberal amount of Flex Seal to cover it up. [6]
JonTron Part 2
JonTron released a second Flex Tape video in 2018 called "Flex Tape II: The Flexening."
The premise was a sort of meta take on the success he'd seen since the last video.
He then goes on to do the same thing and rate Phil Swift's demonstations of Swift Response products like Flex Glue.
He then uses cheap special effects to simulate a magical Willy Wonka Style Flex Seal land where Phil Swift make a cameo and plugs his products.

Flex Seal Color is a liquid rubber in a can, capable of seeping into cracks and holes, and it dries to a water-tight, flexible, rubberized coating, a lot like the aforementioned Flex Seal.
