Paul Coulson is chairman and a major shareholder of the Ardagh Group, a global leader in glass and metal packaging for food, beverages and other consumer products.

After the completion of its latest U.S. acquisition, Ardagh will be the market leader in glass containers in North America, with projected revenue of roughly $7 billion, a workforce of 22,000 people and 113 plants in 25 countries.

Based in Paris, Coulson has been chairman of Ardagh since 1998, overseeing its growth from a single-plant glass producer in Ireland to the multinational group it is today.

Previously, Coulson was responsible for building significant businesses in structured finance, fish farming and medical waste.

He received a business degree from Trinity College Dublin and subsequently qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse.
