Career
Jara's artistic career began at the early age of 14, when she recorded her first studio album with the label Codiscos. She chose the genre of Ranchera, in which at that time, there were few female artists.
She opened a concert for Vicente Fernández and Alejandro Fernández in the city of Medellín. Soon after, she opened the Juan Gabriel concert, among others.
In 2009, working with the music producer Ivan Calderon, Jara her album entitled "Paola Jara" which spawned her first hit "Voy a Olvidarte", achieving number 1 on radio and television in Colombia.
In television
Jara was a finalist in the contest of the RCN Channel "Se busca intérprete", in which she represented the popular genre, under the tutorship of Galy Galiano. She won the public's affection and her appearance boosted her popularity.
She has presented several television programs on Colombian regional channels such as Paisa Visión and Cosmovisión.
In 2017 and 2018, Jara was invited to the Channel 1 programs "Guerreros" and "De Fiesta con Danny Marín", respectively, where she performed several of her songs, and in this latter, she was interviewed by the Colombian singer Danny Marín who hosted the program.
Personal information
Jara was initiated in music at an early age.
Throughout her childhood, she lived in different municipalities such as Abejorral, Palmira and Medellín where she finally settled down. Her stay in these places allowed her to get to know different cultures and lifestyles that led her to discover her true passion. During these years, she participated in various music contests that were held in the regions and institutions where she studied. During her high school years, she alternated her studies with guitar lessons and singing practice.
While pursuing her degree in college, she continued to explore music on a professional level.
She began performing at public and private venues and events, accompanied by mariachis, which helped her open the doors of the music industry in Medellín and other cities in the country.
Jara currently lives in Medellin.
For business reasons, she frequently travels to Bogotá, where she owns an apartment.
Although the artist talks very little about her private life, it is known that she has maintained a romantic relationship with popular music singer Jessi Uribe since 2019.
Style and Image
Jara's musical style is pop music and music of the ranchera genre.
Her influences include Darío Gómez, Marbelle, Jhonny Rivera, Las Hermanas Calle and Helenita Vargas, among others.
