Paige McCoy Smith is an American reporter and producer for Good Morning Texas at WFAA in Dallas, Texas. She is also a Radio personality and has her own radio show, ‘The Not So Perfect Parent’[1]
Career
Paige McCoy Smith is a Television presenter, radio personality and professional speaker who has entertained and educated audiences with content that is informative, compelling and fun. She currently serves as an on-air personality for Good Morning Texas and enjoys the daily antics that accompany live television.
She started her career in Sports Marketing in Colorado. In Fort Worth, Texas, she served as the Vice president of Communications at the Gladney Center for Adoption. With a little luck and a lot of perseverance, she landed her Dream Job at Good Morning Texas.
She serves on the Board of Directors at the Gladney Center for Adoption. She understands the power of adoption and the mission of finding permanent, loving families for children. In fact, Paige’s daughter Victoria was adopted at the age of 6 months from Colombia.[3]
She is a regular on WFAA’s Good Morning Texas and her radio show, 'The Not So Perfect Parent' airs on 103.7 FM each Sunday, 7 to 8 AM. Paige has made a name for herself being a real and relatable mom that gives women the freedom to be who they are: perfectly imperfect.[4]
Personal
McCoy Smith is happily married to her husband Shay, they have been married since 1994. They have three children, Colt, Luke, and Victoria. Her youngest daughter Victoria was adopted at the age of 6 months from Colombia. Colt, age 19, Luke age 14, and little Victoria, age 7 (whom they adopted from Colombia). When asked about her husband in an interview she said:
He is wonderful.
We’ve been married since 1994.
I don’t know what I’d do without him.
We met because his older sister is married to my older brother; it’s all legal!
[laughs] We never met until our siblings were married, and he was the groomsman and I was the bridesmaid that was lined up with him.
A year to the day after we met we were engaged.[2]
McCoy Smith studied at the University of Colorado, Paige also received a Master's degree in Marriage and Family therapy. After several years, the Lone Star State (Texas) beckoned her back and she moved with her new husband to Abilene. She and her family eventually settled in Fort Worth.
Trivia
Paige spends most of her time in a carpool line or at a Baseball game juggling her three kids. Her favorite meal is Tex-Mex. Joe T. Garcia’s is here favorite spot, and Chuy's her second.
