Marrell started his Ozzy Man Reviews project while he was at Curtin University completing a master of internet communications. He took a risk and made it his full-time job in January 2016, when he had about 300,000 followers on Facebook and 100,000 on YouTube. As of June 2020, Ozzy Man boasts 3.9 million subscribers on YouTube and 9.6 million followers on Facebook. He also has about 1.5 million followers on Instagram.[12][1][2][5]
His most viewed videos include: "Ozzy Man Reviews: Brazilian TV" (35 million views), "Ozzy Man Reviews: Yanet Garcia & Mexican Weather" (24 million views) and "Ozzy Man Reviews: Angry Goat vs Town" (14 million views).[2]
Marrell got the name Ozzy Man from American screenwriting friends.
The rest of the project was a product of his past work, studies and creativity.[12]
In June 2020, YouTube took down Ozzy Man’s "Humans Being Nice" video for violating its terms of service.
The video was posted on June 2 and it was removed from YouTube a few hours later. The same thing happened with Ozzy Man’s post on Twitter. Ozzy Man Reviews posted the full video on Facebook. As of June 9, the video was restored on YouTube.[19]
