Opiuo is a musician based in Melbourne, Australia. He produces Electronic music and is part of the music project "The Opiuo Band." Opiuo is originally from New Zealand.

Opiuo was born and raised in New Zealand and first became interested in creating music in his teens. At the time, he mainly was influenced by Drum & Bass and Trance music. As he experimented with music more and more, he eventually created his own unique sound.

Opiuo borrowed money from his parents to solely focus on making music for a year.

Later after finding success and playing a plethora of shows, he saved up enough money to pay them back.

Although Opiuo has been characterized as Glitch hop, he considers his sound “funkadelic bass music.” ^[1]

In the mid-2010s, Opiuo gathered his friends together to for The Opiuo Band.

Together, the project released two albums and toured extensively around the world.

Opiuo first EP was Physical Symptoms, which he released on June 1, 2009. Over the years, he has dropped a steady stream of music including the Butternut Slap EP Series in 2012 and Meraki in 2014. His most recent album, Omniversal, was released in June of 2016.
