Dr. Nasim Annabi (Persian: د. نسيم النبى) is Assistant Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). [2] [8]

Early Life and Education

A native of Iran, Dr. Annabi obtained both a Bachelor of Applied Science (2002) and a Master of Applied Science (2004) in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology from Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch, Tehran, and went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering from the University of Sydney in 2010. After obtaining her PhD, Dr. Annabi served as a postdoctoral researcher and instructor at Harvard Medical School from 2011 to 2015. Dr. Annabi joined the faculty of Northeastern University in 2015, where she served as Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering until she was recruited by UCLA in the summer of 2018. [2] [7] [10]

Research and Inventions

Dr. Annabi's research focuses on bioadhesives and tissue engineering, and she is considered one of the leading authorities in the field. Dr. Annabi invented a sprayable surgical glue called MeTro that not only seals organ wounds but also promotes tissue regeneration. [7] [12]
