Ramzan is of Pakistani descent and grew up in Auburn, Washington. An honors student, Ramzan received a full scholarship to attend Northwestern University. An active student in the campus
community, Ramzan was a member of the school's club crew team as well as a supporter of the LGBTQ community. [1] In his free time, he would volunteer at the Freshman Urban Program and the Northwestern Quest Scholars Network. Mohammed is remembered for his contagious smile, natural charisma, and kindness towards others.
Death
On April 10th, Ramzan was practicing with his crew team on the North Shore Channel in Lincolnwood when he fell overboard.
The coach and the teammate tried to rescue him but to no avail.
He later died from his injuries; an autopsy will be performed to find the cause of his death.
Lifejackets were not worn by any of the crew team members during the time of the incident.
A GoFundMe has been created to help fund his funeral. Any extra money will be donated to a charity of the family's choosing.
