Mohamed Bzeek is a foster parent dedicated to the caring of terminally ill foster children in Los Angeles County, California. He has become a local hero for being the only foster parent for terminally ill children.
Early Life
Growing up he became a devoted marathon runner who has since earned numerous accolades.

In 1978, he came to the United States to study engineering. During his time in the US, he would befriend the love of his life, Dawn, in the early 1980s. They met through a mutual friend.
Inspired by the work of her grandparents as a foster caring family, she opened her home as an emergency shelter for foster children who needed immediate placement or who were placed in protective custody.
Marriage
Mohamed and Dawn would go on to get married.
Together they opened their home in Azusa, California to care for dozens of children. They also taught classes at community colleges on foster parenting and handling a child's illness and their death.
The two had a child together, Adam, in 1997 who was born with brittle bone disease and dwarfism. Adam studies computer science at Citrus College, driving his electric wheelchair to class.
Around the year 2000, Dawn began to experience powerful seizures that would leave her weak for days.
At times she could barely leave the house for days for fear that it could happen in public.
The vexation of her disease worn out the couple and their foster caring program.
They split in 2013.
She died sometime after in 2015.
Foster Parenting

Dawn was a highly regarded foster mother as her name appeared statewide for improving foster care alongside doctors and policymakers.
They experienced their first foster child death on July 4, 1991.
By the mid-1990s, the Bzeeks decided to specifically care for terminally ill children who had do-not-resuscitate orders because no one else would take them in.
Presently, Bzeek has taken over the foster home and devotes his whole heart to it.
He takes in children who are born with terminally ill diseases.
Colon Cancer
In November 2016, he was diagnosed with colon cancer. He had an operation in December 2016.
Personal Life
His dedication derives from his Muslim faith despite receiving negativity.
He says that he hasn't had a day off since 2010.
He lives in Azusa, California.
