Michael Steven Sandford is a 19 year old British man.

He came to California from the United Kingdom 18 months before attempting to assassinate Donald Trump on a tourist visa and stayed illegally after his visa expired.

Michael Sandford attempted to kill Donald Trump at his Las Vegas rally on June 18, 2016. Sandford had been planning the assassination for a year.

Sandford went to the Trump rally and tried to grab a gun from a Las Vegas Police officer, with the intent of trying to kill Donald Trump. He was arrested immediately, and is in custody with the United States Secret Service.

He said that he grabbed the gun to “To shoot and kill Trump.”

He also said that if the attempt failed he would got to Trump's rally in Phoenix, Arizona and to try and assassinate Trump.

The day before the attempt, Sandford tried shooting a gun for the first time at the Battlefield Las Vegas shooting range.

He tried to learn shooting by firing 20 rounds with a Glock 9mm pistol.

Sandford was charged with an act of violence on restricted grounds.
