Michael J Casey is an Australian journalist, public speaker, educator, and author who has been involved in the blockchain space as an agent of information regarding its technology and immersive cultural impact around the world. He is the author of the book, The Truth Machine: The Blockchain and The Future of Everything, which he co-wrote with Paul Vigna.

Casey was born and raised in the county of Australia where he lived for much of his earlier life. He grew up in the city of Perth. He is a graduate of John XXIII College and graduated in 1984.
Education

Casey attended a number of universities in his high-education as a young man in Australia. He first attended the The University of Western Australia where he received his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business where he graduated in 1987. He then attended Curtin University of Technology where he received his graduate M.A. degree in Journalism in 1991.
From 1993 to 1994, he attended Cornell University where he received his Master of Arts of English in Asian studies.
Career
After his college experience and receiving his degrees, he spent most of the 1990s involved in several publications around the world where he wrote and covered news related to currencies, bonds, equities and economic policy.
He worked for AFX News and The West Australian. For both publications, he covered news throughout Australia and Jakarta.
While working for the Dow Jones, he was the special writer and editor for more than a decade. He became the Bureau Chief in Argentina. He acted as a Journalist, editorial, administrative, and also a Wall Street Journal correspondent.
Besides being a correspondent for WSJ for many years, he was also the Senior Columnist for about two years.
He wrote a weekly column on global financial and economic affairs for various WSJ and Dow Jones platforms.
He was also the lead and coordinating editor responsible for a published daily newsletter on economic and political developments around the world.
He contributes to WSJ's Moneybeat blog and regularly hosted the morning News Hub, one of WSJ Live's daily live video shows.
In this and other roles, he has also worked as a moderator of panels and public speaker and am frequently interviewed for outside local and international television and radio programs.
