Mia moved to Australia in 2016 and worked at The Bedroom, a nightclub in Surfers Paradise, Queensland for six months. Ten days before her death she moved to Townsville, Queensland to start rural work so she could extend her work visa. She planned on returning to Surfers Paradise after her rural work. She had moved to a hostel called Shelley's Backpackers.
Mia had graduated from Buxton & Leek College in 2015 after studying childcare. She also studied Psychology at Chesterfield College. She attended Anthony Gell School and The Ecclesbourne School.
Murder
Mia was fatally stabbed by The Terrorists who yelled "Allahu Akbar!" after killing her. The killer was a citizen of France. During the attack he critically wounded one man and stabbed the other in the neck.
One of the men, identified as Grant 'Grunta' Scholz, was stabbed in the leg when he tried to help Mia fend off the attacker and was released from hospital soon after the attack on Tuesday night.
The other man who has not been identified was British and is in critical condition after he also tried to intervene.
