Meren Reddy

Meren Reddy (born 29 May 1982) is a South African actor and comedian. He is credited with co-creating the highly-popular hit sitcom City Ses'la which he also starred on, on SABC 1 as Gary Moodley and reprised that role in the spin-off series Ses'Top La. His portrayal of Gary Moodley earned him a Golden Horn win for Best Comedy Actor.

Career

Meren Reddy is best known for his starring role as Gary Moodley in the SABC 1 sitcom City Ses'la, since 2005.

He reprised the role in the spin-off series Ses'Top La, in 2012.

He was nominated for his role in City Ses'la in the Best Comedy Actor category at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) for three years in a row (2006-2008), winning the award in 2008.

Having graduated from The National School of the Arts, he went on to study at AFDA, The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance.

Meren was also one of the starring cast members of the SABC 3 satirical sketch comedy series Sketch U Later, in 2012.

He is currently starring in Mzansi Magic's crime drama Trackers, alongside Thapelo Mokoena.[1]
