She began her career in the private sector and held increasing levels of responsibility.

She later transitioned into public accounting where she specialized in helping individuals and businesses with their taxation and accounting needs.

This provided Dr. Hicks with the experience she would need to later provide students with the practical application of the knowledge being taught in the classroom.

At Liberty, Dr. Hicks has had the opportunity to serve in a variety of capacities.

Her experience and commitment to excellence have afforded her the opportunity to lead a department, oversee accreditation for the School of Business, design, implement, and change curriculum, advise, and teach and mentor students.

Dr. Hicks continues to consult and keeps up-to-date on current accounting and business practices, bringing relevant experiences and practices into the classroom.^[1] she has had the opportunity to serve in a variety of capacities of increasing responsibility.

Her experience and commitment to excellence have afforded her the opportunity to lead an amazing Department of individuals, oversee accreditation for the School of Business, design, implement, and change curriculum, advise, teach, and mentor students.^[2] She Began her career in the private sector, and served as Controller for both a coffee roasting company, and a small manufacturing firm outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Then transitioned into the public sector, working for a local CPA firm doing compilations and tax returns (individual, corporations/ partnerships/trusts). Continues to consult for local businesses and individuals, which allows her to stay up to date on current practices, and bring practical application to the courses she teaches.^[3]
