Maycee Barber (born May 18, 1998) nicknamed "The Future" is a flyweight mixed martial arts fighter.She is signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).^[31]

Barber was born to parents Bucky and Maryanne Barber in Greeley, Colorado.She

began her martial arts journey with Kenpo Karate at the age of three.Bucky, Maryanne, Maycee and her sister all signed up as a way to learn balance, coordination, self discipline, as well as self defense.Barber later became a second degree black belt in Kenpo Karate.^{[1] [2]}

The family later decided to open their own martial arts gym in Fort Collins, Colorado which is now known as Fort Collins Martial Arts Academy.FCMAA

was opened in 2010 when Maycee and her sister were young teenagers.^[1]

As they grew older, Barber and her sister became the head instructors at FCMAA.At

the time (2011/2012) they began training in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu via Gracie University which is an online curriculum through Rener Gracie & Ryron Gracie and the Gracie Academy in Torrance, California.Barber and

her sister earned blue belts and later purple belts all through watching videos online and practicing the techniques together for hours at a time each day.Along with their

own learning they also became certified instructors and added iu jitsu into the programs and classes at the family's martial arts gym.^[1]

When she was 16, Barber started training with Ryan Schultz on furthering her knowledge on the ground.With

Ryan, she went from a fairly skilled jiu jitsu practitioner to a highly intelligent MMA Jiu Jitsu practitioner.She learned

how to combine the standup aspect of MMA with the Ground Game.The two different

aspects of the fight game became one.With her ground game

improving, Barber began training with some of the top striking and mma coaches.^[1]

Maycee Barber made her debut as a proffessional mixed martial arts fighter on June 23, 2017 in a Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) winning her match against Itzel Esquivel.Barber made her Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut on July 17, 2018 winning her match against Jamie Colleen.She has won three UFC fights fights, five LFA fights, and one amateur fight.Barber has fought as both a flyweight and a strawweight.^{[3] [31]}
