Career
Maura started her career in 2011 as an Intern of Echoes Radio.
In 2013 she was a Summer Camp Counselor at Freedom Valley YMCA and SnowJam Marketing Representative at Campus Vacations.
From 2013 to 2014, Maura served as a Video Production Assistant at Harvard University and Peer tutor at Boston University's Educational Resource Center. During 2014, she worked as a Production coordinator at BUSM+, Allston-Brighton Correspondent at Neighborhood Network News and Digitial Media Intern at WBZ-TV Boston. In 2015, she had positions of Communications Intern at European Producer's Club and NY Bureau Intern at NBC News. [2]
From 2012 to 2015, Maura worked as an Executive producer at Inside Boston, butv10. In 2016-2017, she was a researcher at NBC News. In 2017, she became an Associate Producer of Business & Tech Unit at NBC News. Currently, she is a Political Campaign Embed Reporter at NBC News.[2]

COVID-19 Outbreak
On April 4, 2020, a Philadelphia man F-bombed Barrett live on the air during coronavirus report. Barrett was reporting on jobs and businesses being lost or shut down due to the stay-at-home orders. When anchor Joshua Johnson tossed to Barrett, the shouting in the background was audible almost immediately. After running her recorded interview, when the camera came back live to the flustered Barrett she said "I apologize, there's a bit of an altercation here."[15]
