Mason Brown was a student residing in Canal Fulton, Ohio. ^[1]

Kaufman was a student at Northwest High School (Canal Fulton, Ohio).

On Friday February 23, 2018, Brown and Lauren Kaufman were found suffering from gunshot wounds to the heads. Officers located a handgun at the scene and their deaths are being investigated as a possible murder-suicide.

Authorities received a call to check the welfare of two juveniles.

Their bodies were located at approximately 8:29 p.m. local time by a Canal Fulton police officer in a wooded area south of Portage Road and east of Akron Avenue.

Kaufman was pronounced dead at the scene and Brown was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injury at about 2:00 a.m. Saturday.
